Working on the TMNT show, I got the opportunity to submit some work to Gallery Nucleus, an awesome spot in Alhambra that does some amazing shows.
I've always been a fan of vintage Japanese movie posters, so I figured I take a shot at mimicking the style, while still putting my own twist on it. My favorite films are always the over-the-top, dramatic revenge films with sons avenging their fathers, so that's mainly what these pieces are about.
These are some various concept paintings that I've done for the show, ranging from characters to sets and everything in between. I am responsible for color only, lines are supplied by our awesome design team.
I'll be updating this gallery as more episodes air!
All images presented are property of Nickelodeon.
This is my love letter project to Peter Pan, but specifically Stephen Spielberg's Hook. This project centers itself around the cult icon Rufio, where I've teamed up with the actor himself, Dante Basco.
Here's some fun Batman stuff I've been working on. Just turning the Dark Knight and his friends into a goofball in a banana costume and other weird things.
This is my mini Ghibli tribute. It was super fun to make and just kinda did it on a whim for CTN Animation Expo 2014.
I loved Guardians of the Galaxy and the dancing Baby Groot part was so funny I had to do some fan art! I have a habit of changing rendering styles in the middle of a piece so that happened a couple times here.
I made a sketchbook last year with my good friends Jeffry Mazon and Mayumi Nose! Here are a sample of some of my pages.
We originally had a really boring sketchbook, but we found out we had more time than we thought, so we put a little more time into it. I thought it'd be cool if we made it feel like an old used up notebook, so I designed the cover and the pages (they drew their own portraits lol). It was really fun to do, so we're hoping to do more soon!
I always loved shared universe stories, so i thought it'd be fun to pit some of my favorite characters together to see what would happen.
Samurai Jack x Mugen
Megaman x Kaiju
Naruto x Aang
Rufio vs Zuko
Wander x Colossal Titan
I have a soft spot for villains, cause they're so cool! The baddies usually have the coolest costumes, the coolest hair, and the coolest toys. They're just so darn...cool. So I thought I'd change it up and dedicate a whole series to some of my favorite villains.
